I think the emperor said something like the guy is sentenced to prison which is a dungeon and said to the knight that maybe this guy could ''accidentally'' die by the hand of criminals. So I don't think he is still alive right now maybe on paper but not in this prison.

ALSO his sentence is prison? Prison???????? If you try to murder the EMPERORS FIANCE in a setting of """"historical medieval fantasy"""" you know the outlandish ways they would be publicly executing this guy and probably his family too??? I'm talking about actual historical deaths here, they used to pull people apart with horses for way less than this. It is SO fucking annoying anticlimactic and FRUSTRATING.
