She's mentally ill because of all the abuse she's gone through so as much as I understand why you feel that way she was definitely going through stuff when she said all of that/her personality disorder

I can relate with Inseob because I had a friend like Jennie but not too that degree. I tried my best to be there for her but she had these anger episodes and I couldn’t take it anymore so I stopped being her friend

Girl is convinced that the one she is talking to is the prince,(even in her death she still trough it was him the one who set everything up) she knows when she is trying to convince herself in a bipolar episode so she didn't think the possibility of having such a real experience as the night before the party(that we still don't know what happened) probably noticed her friend liked him too, that same friend who is aways trying to convince her to give up, and she obviously was trying to ignore it until he made her confront the insecurity she was trying to ignore
Something convinced mc she was telling the truth latter so I will stay neutral until that is revealed

Yeah, making some distance when you realize you can't handle other people problems is the right thing to do, but the feelings of brotherhood didn't disappear, in MC case he was also sick and understood her the best, I can see why he would feel so guilty for so long to the point of going through a revenge for her (and I think she was his heart donator so yeah I would also at least confront the asshole)
