I don't think that's an unpopular opinion, but since it's such a prevalent trope, many ppl do seem to enjoy it. I see it more as a wish-fulfillment trope, where you have prince charming sweep you off your feet when you've been trodden down and you're hurting and he comes galloping on his white horse to save the day. I'm pretty tired of this tbh bc it doesn't require the one hurting to develop as a character and move on on his own. What's more, is that the person pushing him is just a fickle asshole who wants to acquire something seemingly out of his reach and realistically his enthusiasm would dwindle pretty quickly after they end up together and he'd just start looking for the next exciting thing
I understand that these types of stories and semes are supposed to be cute and "romantic" but you can't just force your feelings onto someone and continue to push people's buttons with no regards to their privacy etc. it's not right to take advantage of someone's vulnerable emotional state either, no matter how much you like someone. That first night was pretty much rape from the looks of it. the uke wasn't coherent enough to give consent
