Every adult should accept the reality that there's somebody that will be always better than you. If you can't accept that like the uke, you would never grow up and just stay wallowing in self-pity and hurt others because of your toxicity like the uke. Although this is fictional story and the author needs some drama to get the story going so I guess the uke had to have this toxic trait just to stay true to the title lol
It's easier said than done. Don't you ever have this sort of dream or ambition to be at the top of something? Misaki has this dream to be a great 3D modeller and working at a big game company. Imagine if you were Misaki and reality slapped you in the face, telling you you can never reach that dream, you don't have that skill, it's really hurts yk. And to accept that reality, it's not that easy.
Exactly. You have written so well. Most people are failing to put themselves in the uke's shoes. He is also trying his best to improve so he really isn't to blame. I guess it's a hard concept to grasp because people are so used to seeing fluff yaoi where it's all lovey dovey and flowers and sparkles. I believe this is way more realistic so it's harder to like. You don't drag other people into your self-pity and insecurity, full stop. It doesn't matter how much you are suffering from an inferiority complex, it's an asshole move to involve that person into it.
Some people say the uke is toxic and etc. I took animation major in university and let me tell you, it's really easy to feel insecure in this field. And me myself i really like this story bcuz i can really relate to Misaki. These insecurity and jelousy, it can't be helped when we see someone has that skills and success that you don't have. Even though you trying your best to get rid of those ugly feelings, it just can't be helped.
