You and Enigma both didn't pay attention when he was talking about what happened. He wasn't planning on divocing her but his dad (who was the king at the time) died and he thought that divorcing her was the only way to protect her from the people who would have wanted her dead (espesally after her pregnancy was revealed) during the fight for the throne.
It's quite possible I forgot that since it's been a while since that was mentioned but why do you sound kind of angry or annoyed? If you didn't mean to come off that way I honestly doubt it because then you would've worded it differently and made it sound like you were honestly answering my "question" by merely stating that I might've forgotten or maybe not even said that but still answering by saying why he divorced her.
Also, idk if you saw but like it wasn't just me and Enigma agreeing with what Enigma said. But maybe you answered in a rude manner like that because you thought I was being rude to the first commenter but I wasn't even replying to them and just replying to what Enigma said since I had forgotten that by the time the king was announced dead and he was announced emperor, those two had already consummated their marriage.
The person who commented was just saying they don't think the ML is bad, Enigma just responded by saying why people say he's bad. I was just agreeing with what they said about what the ML did because that's a pretty shitty thing to do.

Didn't he divorce her the next day after sleeping with her? No way he knew then she was pregnant and was protecting her from the chaos that would ensue within the corrupt nobles. Actually, I don't remember well but didn't he kind of think she was part of them because of her dad?
and Even when she showed up with his child and he only had an inkling of it being his, didn't someone kind of doubt it because she got pregnant their first night? I don't remember who tbh.
There also doesn't seem like there was really a fight for the throne. The king died and the ML ascended the throne.
There are also a few people in the section called "comments", not this section called "topics" which everyone (including me) refers to as the comment section, who talk about the ML and say he's shitty and mentioned why he divorced her and they don't mention that it was to protect her but that it was because the ML thought it was because she was working alongside her father.
FL kind of answers why she hides her kid from the ML in chapter 2 at the end of page 12 and also on page 13 (⌒▽⌒)

I know a lot of people hate the ml I have seen it on this site and on youtube too.
Of course he didn't know that she is pregnant when he divorced her but the divorce was to protect her. The FL hid the child because she was afraid that he would be taken away from her if the ML found out that the child is his son.

i don't hate the ML because honeslty I have only been so invested in Astelle's business to pay any attention to him. Astelle's plan and whole character is just so interesting. the only thing that i found frustrating is that he needs to take initiative and confess his feelings, just at least to let her know that he likes her so that Kaizen's actions do not confuse Astelle in the near future.
I’m super late to responding but how is that protecting her? If anything it left her utterly defenseless. He could at the very least communicated with her and send her off with some form of protection… or hell he can even hide her until things have calmed down a bit. But noooooo he divorced her and booted her out of the palace. She would have not survived if it wasn’t for the grandpa. But please keep on defending this asshole and victim blame the FL who’s just doing what she thinks it’s best to survive -_-
