The only way this should be allowed to end is with MD getting his Happy End away from this abusive trash. Be it alone or with someone that actually treasures him. (Copium is high right now).
That dude was irredeemable by the end of the first chapter. Like how is this supposed to go?! You can’t redeem this shit. Not even if you really write the redemption arc well (and that already won’t be the case considering how well it must be to even begin to “justify” or change this character authentically let alone actually make one root for him to get MD at the end after all he has done) it is not something that should and can be redeemed in this relationship.
I’m so sick and tired of what disturbing trend ks and painters of the night have started in the bl area. No one of y’all that like this would read that shit if it would be hetero (validly so) but somehow here some of y’all are eating bs like this up bc hot guys. And it’s like ppl eat up any apology. Like bro I know that this seme probably was abused himself as well. Like I’m going into the story thinking that, so how is it that when his character arc will drop suddenly ppl will have empathy as if that is the first time they thought that this dude could have had a rough maybe even traumatic childhood?? I’m reminded of this crazy omega in love is an illusion where ppl were so quick to forgive that dude for what he has done. Lol.
Or the weirdos that actually read half of the painters of the night story and then actually were on board when the “couple” suddenly turned all lovey dovey (from what I’ve heard). Like that dude has done everything a human can do to make another human suffer to the uke and then it’s like he changed, he regrets, mutual love. ….. the only way you can do “crazy relationships” is when both are crazy from the beginning, there is a power balance (no dependence, stockholm and etc. bs) and their relationship is consensual. Like that one shot with the two hitmen. They were crazy but kinda cute with each other. Anyways..
