Thank you for compiling all this though! It is easier to find good (or at least decent) representation.
This is such a HUGGGEEE problem in this type of media. Not just in manga produced by east Asian countries, but in media general. I think a lot of time it all leads down to making 'attractive' characters. Since the target for a lot of boys love comics are women, they try and make the characters super sexy and stuff. A lot of the time, these kinds of features are deemed ugly. Not just that, but japan's entire string of xenophobia leads to lack of... everything. Even if this kind of homosexual relationship is normalized, it's still such a conservative country. It's very upsetting.
...some of these guys just white though lol.. not dark at all.. BUT more importantly... it makes me so sad so many of these are racist, such a shame... wish there was better representation... (Not at all saying that's anyone's fault here, only the authors/artist's) I was just looking to see if there may be better representation and diversity that you found, I always have a hard time finding diversity in manga, manhwa/hua that isn't ignorant/racist.
