How entitled do you have to be, to be mad at the artist for protecting their brand and materials and wanting to be paid fairly for consumption. What we’re all doing is illegal and you should just be grateful that we’ve been able to do this for so long instead of trash talking artists for fair pay. Wtf lol

I get what ur saying but art & comics arent a need, theyre a luxury site like this cut directly into their salary since this is their job, so they’re 100% within their right to take down their own content from illegal sites

I understand they make a living from it but some ppl just can’t always afford it like I can say now half of the ppl on this site is pretty much underage and aren’t able to buy them so the site is a way for them to enjoy it like everyone else

Kind of like how with music artist, you have to pay money to hear their music live but it’s also available as free access on other platforms, which they still make money from.

The big big difference here is that most music artists here get money from ad revenue on sites like YouTube, also get sales from concerts and other similar activities. They are /also/ usually paid by contract by a label.
Comic artists sadly do not have these benefits.
Stealing from comic artists isn’t like stealing from a big company like Disney, it’s small artists that are struggling to make rent.

Fun fact, did you know that a couple of years back a big illegal manga site in Japan got shot down and the sales in manga went up /30%/? These sites are part of the reason why many stories are dropped, often bc the artist just isn’t healthy enough to continue either mentally or physically (or both!)

/All/ these comic sites have plenty of opportunities for free coins to read chapters for free

they dont get their literal salary cut (i forgot the word for income when i wrote the comment LMAO) but they get paid per chapter unlock basically!! Sometimes the system changes a little per site but essentially, you buy a chapter = they get money (since the site gets a cut, the artist gets a fraction of what the currency is worth)

Some sites also work with work contracts alongside chapter sales, but these contracts are not very good overall and don't do much in the protection of the artists. Sometimes if their work gets spread enough they could get their contract terminated (this is a particularly big issue in japan, but im unsure about Korea!)

I would have to do extra research for specifics, but that's the gist of it!!
