Had anyone felt anything for the seme when he was the one being played at? I doubt. They have been communicating this way. Words are not enough for them and their language is mutual, mutually hurting each other to gain what they want. Now everyone's hating on the seme and pretty much invalidating the pain he went. This is exactly why the uke forgave him because he admits he's been an ass to the seme, too. Now it's fair and have settled on a truce.
They have serious trust issues. Those people who don't understand the seme, wow, must be a great life to never have trust issues.
If the seme was doing it for the sheer fun of seeing someone suffer, would he have admitted anything? Prolly not and even prolonged the agony.
