I don’t understand why almost everyone in the story doesn’t see dokja as handsome WHEN...

I don't remember the exact reason but I believe it had something to do with him being the only person to complete the Ways of Survival Novel. He gained some sort of passive ability (It's not really counted as an ability tho) that in a way blurred or negated other peoples interpretation of him.

So the reason is due to the Fourth Wall’s interference. It doesn’t just block his mind it also blocks his true appearance from those around him. This is why Yoosung, who we haven’t met yet, can see his true appearance, since she is his incarnation.

Everything that is happening now is actually a recreation by Han Sooyoung using his memories. She wrote in the part that he is ugly.
What I mean is, if you read all of the novel and then read it again, you see all those details that make sense once you know the ending. This is super meta.
To make Dokja's soul come back Han Sooyoung wrote this story making Dokja a protagonist. She wrote it in first person. And spread it in other worlds in hopes that many people will read it. And ones of the people who received the story were "married couple authors" - the SingSong couple who wrote ORV! So basically all of the novel is written by Han Sooyoung, and she wrote in the Dokja is ugly part lol. And some other stuff.
