That s exactly what i ve been always saying. If mangago doesnt exist then i just stop reading webtoons and stop supporting the authors of the webtoons i liked. Because it usually take about 15 chapters to see if the story is good and by that time i would have to spend some money, and if by the 15th chapter i understand that the webtoon is not worthy of course i ll feel disappointed and mad . Who needs that? Statistically i like only 20% of the stories i read here, so it means 80 % of my money would be wasted. No thanks.

And it's actually proven that mangago had helped authors get readers this webtoon Reincarnated as the Omega Villain in a BL Novel
actually the author is the one uploading the chapters here at first someone else was uploading it here but after many commented it's free on webtoon the previous uploader went and actually got the permission from the author and author decided that they'll be the one to upload instead and was grateful it sent a lot of attention to their work since they were a new author.

That’s probably an exaggeration. Even if some people may discover manhwas here, I believe the majority of those continue to read it here as well. Sure, some may pay for the chapters on legal sites in order to support the author but just imagine the amount of people reading here contrary to the legal sites. I understand the authors, even though I hope the site will stay safe. I love this site and have used it for many years!

yeah but the majority reads here because they have no money so they wouldn’t even come ACROSS the legal sites!! Do you understand what I mean? Illegal sites give the opportunity to buy chapters legally, without mangago and others I wouldn’t have even dared to think of the “BL world”. That’s what I meant with there’s more pros than cons. Ofc the authors can be sad that illegal uploads will get more views than on their platform but that’s literally normal. I’d say they make not more and not less profit tbh.

Maybe. But if I would be in the author’s shoes I would probably react the same way. I wouldn’t threaten people online, but still, I would demand my work to be removed. The problem is that after people discover new reads here the majority doesn’t move on to the legal sites. Probably. At the moment I don’t do that either. Mangago has also been an eye-opener to the world of BL for me, so I understand what you mean.
mangago is truly my safe space. I’ve been using this site since 2016 :( I really do understand that certain authors get pissed off seeing their work on illegal sites but at the same time I feel like a lot of story’s wouldn’t have even a third of the hype if it weren’t for illegal uploads. Normally, when I really enjoy a story, I go buy the chapters on legal websites AFTER having read it either completely or almost completely, just so I can make sure that it’s really worth the money. ‘Cause let’s be freaking honest: who in their right mind would buy chapters for approximately 5 dollars (a horrendous amount of money considering the amount of chapters) without even knowing if they like the story or not. It’s different when it comes to f.ex. mangakas, whereas the work is mostly known for being good and the money one spends is really worth it. I can literally say that I 1) wouldn’t even know 1% of the manga/manhua/manhwa world without mangago and 2) I wouldn’t have spend a (now) large amount of money on legal sites WITHOUT mangago. Like authors can literally thank illegal uploaders that I came across this site and started supporting them
Threatening to sue or doxx people bc they upload a fucking fiction story on a random platform somewhere on the internet had me so freaking shocked. I genuinely lost so much respect for a lot of authors and considering the fact that I spend my paycheck on them makes me so mad and disappointed. They have every right to say : pls don’t upload there but taking legal action for a digital story? (And sometimes is even poorly written???) LMAO no thanks.
I share so many memories with this site and hope it will continue on living.
ps. I hope these authors know that there are millions of illegal upload sites and that suing and possibly closing up one is not gonna change anything
