He also wasn't in control but he wasn't completely without consciousness. RUve mostly missed her efficiency which is why he started falling for her after her death. The difference was that this fiance genuinely had no intentions of hurting her. He didn't feel any jealousy towards angela the way ruve was jealous of tia.
