The issue isn't that he's fantasasing about him, the issue is that they thought he might be in love with the fantasy version of the dude and if so it wouldn't have been real love.
But I agree that they took it too far, it was obvious that he was in love with the real him.
Ok, that fight was a little too much drama for me I guess, they solved it real quickly,cause, is that even a trouble to fantasize with your partner?
