Yup
He basically saw another kid who he taught had family issues similar to masato and brought him home.
Hmmm... But he did have family issues and his depressed since he kept saying it would be better if he just disappear
so basically satsuki is a replacement for masato, there's literally no way for hosumi to fall in love with satsuki at first sight, other than looking like masato.
throughout this whole thing, I still have no idea why hosumi fell in love with satsuki
