Ok so my best guess is that this is in the middle of the Korean war from 1950-1953 and they're probably in their 20's at this moment. Hosik has a sister who isn't in the main timeline so my best guess is that these are their great grandparents. Hosik probably reincarnated as someone from North Korea and had been trying to run to the South when he ran across sunbae. If they don't end up together, my best guess is they don't. The sister may be the one to have kids giving birth to Hosik and Sunbae's grandparents. As for Sunbae, i feel like his reincarnation skips a generation in his family. When he reincarnates he has a kid who isn't his reincarnation and when that kid has a kid, it's his reincarnation. So, if this is their great grandparents, Hosik is eventually reborn via that sisters descendants to the main story line. This could be another reason why Sunbae is always so protective after their first life very long ago after Hosik dies from sickness and then tries to runaway and probably dies in this life. This is all just a guess from hella analysis but we'll see as we go on lmao.

And from a spiritual standpoint, i feel like the gods above may feel bad for the fate that Sunbae and Hosik lived in their first life and kept reincarnating them at the same time hoping they'd run into each other and be with each other without many issues. Which is why perhaps it's "Hosik's Story" since this is the story of his past lives and how tragic they were before all finally played out as it should.

And once again, he mentions when Hosik is pregnant the first time that he's scared he'll take the baby and just run away from him which could make sense from their old life when he tried to take his sister and run away. He also seems to have some bad fear with Hosik getting lost or getting hurt while lost. This reincarnation of Hosik may have passed while being lost somewhere and Sunbae was unable to find him. And in their very first life Sunbae vows that they'll be together again which may have led to the constant reincarnations of them with Sunbae remembering every single life they've ever lived together, no matter how long.

I really like your analysis here, although I think it skips every two generations because when Sunbae was alive, so was his grandfather. And they both couldn't have existed in two bodies if they had the same soul

With this in mind, i guess the main couple sunbae reincarnation also have dreams about past Hosiks? And the reason why Sunbae's family is okay with their only son and heir to marry a man?

Maybe its pass down to generations about their story? Just a random thought.

I think they're fine with Hosik because of Sunbae's condition, where he has low sperm count. Hosik being able to bear his children is literally a blessing to them, and I feel like they're really good people.

Yeah lmao that's what I meant by the whole generation thing, it's either skipping a person of two in the family. It wouldn't make sense if two of his reincarnation was alive at the same time. And it seems to be staying in the family since the house Sunbae lives in is the same

Sunbae immediate family seems to be pretty accepting and it's never said if he came out to them prior to the story or not. And like @nikinico said, they could just see Hosik as a blessing and not acknowledge that he's a male. Sunbae's mom said "you are a blessing to this family." And they said Sunbae was hard to conceive, so it could either be from the mom or the dad's side that caused the low sperm count for Sunbae. Regardless Sunbae's parents love Hosik so no complaints here lmao.
