it's just unrealistic writing lol, i feel like lots of writers use conflict as a plot device rather than an actual motive of realistic characters, but hey, good writing is few and far in between, in the mean time we just gotta put up with this. middleschoolers doing that yes, but adults meeting each other again for the first time and bringing up middle school conflict just to humiliate the other party? hardly
