They have every right to charge people to view the content they spent HOURS and DAYS making. If they just put it out there for free, then how are they gonna pay their bills? People forget that these authors make a living out of it. If you can’t pay for it then don’t read. Simple as that.

I get why authors are upset but at the same time majority of people only read their work because it’s free. If I paid for every story I’m reading I’d be spending thousands of dollars I just can’t do that but because I can read it and enjoy it I’m more likely to talk about it and spread the word about it to people who might purchase it. Idk kinda feels like they are bitting the hand that feeds them. I only use free reading sites so if it’s not there I’d never even know about it
