This is the case of a 'stupid uke' scenario.
I quit reading after that. Totally shut me off to the rest. Any story where the author paints abuse to be acceptable and nothing to bother with is nothing I want to read. It's a pity; I liked the first chapter.
Did the MC really just accept being beaten up and responded with "Oh great, I thought you hated me. Glad it was a misunderstanding!" What the actual fuck? A perfect example of how to minimize physical abuse. The whole manga was adorable, until a brother went mental and the MC dimwitted…
