Honestly I was lucky and me and my "ex" separated on really good terms (actually still loved each other) but I think that's why it was still so painful. So get some good crying in, sleep a bit, call up a friend and go out for some fun. And if you don't want to be around people just go try something new by yourself. Distractions can be so helpful as a cheering up method. Like I cut my hair the shortest it had ever been because my boyfriend loved long hair and to move on I wanted it short.
