I can't disagree with you, I'm just hoping the author dosen't push the king to a villain's horrible fate. I want him to have a happy ending (with or without the FL)
He already is a villain. Remember when he wanted to size her fortune by marrying her ? Or how he is blackmailing Arthur with his sister's medecin ? Or how he keeps harassing her because he doesn't known how to take NO for an answer ?

I feel so bad for the king man, he was told to be king the minute he was born and then his bro turns out to be the "real" one. And so far he hasn't tried to complot against his brother on his love interest(this may change but so far he hasn't). And I feel bad for him bcz FL won't like him ;-;
