I think it’s cause he does things the public does approve of like helping ppl from the fallen clan that nobody likes but the ppl he’s protecting are innocent in the things their clan did or just doing demonic cultivation which ppl don’t like my guess :>
Oh i misunderstood! Well demonic cultivation is basically bringing dead things alive to work for you—so while all cultivators r taught to kill and suppress dead/evil things, MC is doing the exact opposite which makes him look evil. He’s also very arrogant which makes others not like him

I have yet to find the reason why everyone hates the MC. I see how some of the tragic events that happened were caused by his "tools" that he created but for the most part it just seems like everyone blames him for anything and everything.
