Yunshen was recruited at 14 into the rose army (chapter 12), he was made Trolese's bodyguard at around 16 and got preggers 2 years later--he was still 18 when he was forcibly retired.
Trolese is 34 as mentioned in chapter 20.2 , yunshen was his bodyguard at that time so that is where I came up with the age difference. But seriously is that all you noted from my comment?
I do not like Aslan as a partner for the MC. There is a 16 year diff between him and yunshen in addition to the boss/employee power diff. He never confessed to yunshen instead he purposefully drank that aphrodisiac knowing it would affect the people around him, namely his bodyguard. I hate it when semes are manipulative rather than straightforward, especially when the target uke says he prefers women. Also it seems pretty obvious that he could have fought the affects of the drug, yunshen was able to resist it, that is why aslan tied him up. Still yunshen seems to write it off as an accident rather than rape so I won't dwell on it. But saying he finally has yunshen after taking his virginity like that is such a delusional trope, I can't. And when he told yunshen that since i desperately need an empty man and you are one, doesn't that mean you are obligated to be mine? No it doesn't! Your needs do not obligate anyone to fill them. His yaoi logic irks me to no end. I am lowkey pleased everytime yunshen calls him mr aslan like they're barely more than acquaintances and how even the kids can see they're not a loving coupke like other parents.
Anyway, is all the good, positive stuff about aslan's character in the novel and left out here?
That said I don't hate him altogether. I feel sorry for him that using his powers makes him sick or that his family just sees him as a breeder just bc he is the more pureblooded, not to mention the imperial family's schemes toward him.
I like that the story is more action than romance bc I can't quite ship them even for the sake of their kids though I can see from the prologue they're end game.
