Ok, I'll try to summarize what I got from the first chapter and hope it will help you out a bit (●'◡'●)ﾉ
The main character is Jake Sills, a mixed race policeman. His father, a white FBI investigator, married a Mexican prostitute and drug dealer. His mother run away and left Jake with his father, when Jake was still a kid. So Jake in order to gain some respect from his father, who obviously has no positive feelings for his son, decided to become a police officer himself, in drug department.
Jake went undercover for a mission as a drug dealer, under the name Jose Farias. That's how he met Miguel, the son of (I am guessing) the mafia boss, who is also mixed himself (but looks like a Caucasian). They fell in love, became a couple and find in each other what they both were searching for. Understanding, acceptance and a place to belong.
Two years passed, the mission was transferred to FBI, Miguel got arrested and Jake's cover was compromised. During the interrogation, Miguel admitted he had his suspicions about Jake's identity but overlooked them because he had already fallen in love. And for the sake of his love, he accepted the police's offer and became an informant for them.

A year has passed since then and Jake is now apparently "helped" by his father, by leaving him drugs as "presents", to became a drug addict. He is still in a relationship with Miguel, who continues to work as an informant and being in love with him, so I am guessing that's where hope is for Jake.
And this is what I got from chapter 1! We will have to see how the story will develop, but I am really hoping for Miguel to help out Jake, win over his addiction, and have a happy ending together (づ￣ ³￣)づ (SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS: I tried to translate some japanese comments by readers, and some said that it has a happy ending, so fingers crossed that's what they mean by "happy ending" :P END OF SPOILERS!!!)
