No but shes right. Translators are sharing the authors work on illegal platforms. It doesnt matter if the translating helps the art to get more popularity, if the author doesnt want others to share their work without their permission.
If the author doesn’t want her art to be more popular then she should do her art for herself. It’s basic marketing. Your telling me that she is losing so much money? She is getting literally free promoting, Free! Yes there are some free reads out there. But I guarantee that her work become more popular once it was put on a site that multiple languages can read it. And if she is more popular then she get more commissions for work, making more money. I have talked to many authors, and even just regular novel writers about how they send free copies to some sites because the PROMOTE their work and it makes them popular so then can continue to do their work to make money…. So if she doesn’t want English speakers, Spanish speakers, or any other language speakers to view her work then she can continue bad mouthing translators.
You can't really justify this. It deals more damage than benefit for most works. Just look at Love for Sale's and Dear Benjamin case if you have time to check the authors twitters.

If some randos translated her work, yes they promote it BUT SO what?! what percentage of the people reading on the illegal site are actually gonna buy her official manhwa? she gains no bigger profit at the end .
I’m not saying that it isn’t for every author or artist. But the ones I have spoken too on here say they don’t mind a small cut because it doesn’t affect overall sales or help promote them as a brand… some it may not. You’re right like that author. But that author so nicely contacted the uploader and asked them to stop uploading. And guess what that uploader did…. Stopped uploading. All YD had to do was request nicely for them to stop instead of threaten and belittle talent people. I so wish I knew how to translate so I could just buy the raws. But I can’t, so now I buy the raws look at the pretty pictures and wait until someone more talented then myself translate it and post it on this site…. And a larger freaking number of people do that. But I will be posting on our discord to not buy from this author anymore.
Heres the thing: you guys are “promoting” the authors work without their permission. They never asked for such a “marketing system” on an illegal site. If their work and art are unable to gain popularity, its their problem not ours. Its not our position to “help them share” their work: they never asked us to.
damnnn thats what i am looking for totally i know they are angry about translations but dude if i couldnt read their works in here prob i wouldnt even know their works some of us cant buy whole chapters for all of their mangas but we can support author as much as we can do
I’m not saying everyone goes an buys after reading here, but I am saying her sales impacted. I would never had known about her or other artist without this site, and wouldn’t spend money on the raws. Or follow for other stories. I would know nothing about this artist, many wouldn’t. She wouldn’t be popular. So no I don’t know the percentage because I don’t know her data, but give me the percentage of sales from original written language, before posted on mango and I’ll guarantee ee you an increase in sales after it was posted on mangago (same language). Hell I’ll bet that 1000$ She is spending to hunt down uploaders that her sales increased after people read on this site.
Well the thing is the uploader blocked YD after she requested to take it down and he said he couldn't do it himself. YD doesn't understand how mgg works so Ig thats why she posted the ss of convo and IG profile (which are in public anw). She threatened to sue not to kill. Instead of judging her from 2nd 3rd hand info you should take a look at what really happened. Tho I doubt hardly anyone was here from the start.
Well they uploaded the entire conversation on here. Screen shot and everything. The uploader said they only uploaded two chapters, and won’t anymore. Then she did threaten them, and ask the uploader to take down the whole work, and the uploader said that they can’t do that (because they can’t) but that they would ask mangago to do that for them. And the uploader did and mangago did take it down…It was literally posted on here. I’ll look for the page an post it on here…. Instead of just reading off of her Twitter with select screen shots. I’d read both points because that’s where everyone is mad. It’s about respect for your fans, then minute your lose that the minute you lost your livelyhood.

I love that she is talking about how much she has no respect for translators….. excuse me? Translators is how your “art” is shown to a wider base. Sorry that the translators are smart than you and can speak several languages fluently and translate your work…. And back off on uploaders! Because most the people I know on here, buys the raws or the official translated pieces after seeing them on here. I know I spend near 200$ a month (I know it’s a lot it’s an addiction) on official pieces after seeing them on here, and I know I’m not the only one. This site is basically a big shopping center on showing me thing I might enjoy since I enjoyed one story. But don’t worry psycho author lady I will not be official purchasing your stuff ever again, let alone “illegally” reading it either.
