I follow a bunch of Japanese authors and they never post about illegal translations. I wonder if they don't know about them or something? Genuinely confused

Honestly Who knows? As we know manga comes first here than the manhwa/manhua and I’ve been here in this site for almost 10 years. As for me personally I never heard a problem like this from manga Author.

I doubt that they don't know illegal translations. I bet they just don't make a big deal out of it because japan literally is the home of all mangas and I guess it's more of their passion than making it a way of living coz I noticed how most mangas have depth plot wise than current manhwas.

because their distribution itself is different with manhwa. it's much more restricted and hard than korean works to get noticed. mostly mangas get printed out in magazines and tankobons, and scanlators who uploaded the scanlation has actually buy the copy, then they work themselves to translate and etc. some of them do aware of illegal uploading but they mostly don't care because the thing with japanese is, they care more about the selling point inside the country. same goes within other entertainment industry there like idol groups. if they're famous internationally but their selling inside the country is shit then it's shit. and most uploaders are international fans so it makes sense why they don't bat an eye

that's very different with manhwa, which is its selling point is international distribution. you might be aware how it's easier to enjoy manhwas these days r8

Also this site is not even accessible if you live in Japan, it shows an error page lol so that also might be a factor.
