From what i understand, they have been friends since college and have been in love with each other since then. And it seems the seme wasn't really dating or having sex with all those people- they were people that were interested in the uke so he hung out with them so that they may be interested in him and not the uke and he created the rumors to make himself seem strange and by him hang out with the uke, the uke also seems strange, therefor no one got close to him. And it seems the seme confessed to him a while ago but because of the uke low self-esteem and all the strange rumors the uke didn't believe him
