I agree. Her relationships are real and healthy in representation, and not just solely to target at horny sex drives of fujoshis. There's meaningful substance in her work that can still bring tender love between men without falling into the who exotic racial stereotypes and the yaoi stereotype of relationships. Just beautiful. It sets apart from the usual works. Like the Marina and the diamonds vs Nicki Minaj kinda difference in terms of depth
I think what I love the most about Yamanaka Hiko's works are how realistic her characters are. You don't have an uke who is so innocent that they don't even know about gay sex, or a seme who's main focus is sex. Their actions and reactions feel real.
