that's would be my guess. i'm assuming that's what most rulers do, or at least did in the past. they just wait and see who is most worthy to succeed them...
I haven’t read the novel so correct me if I’m wrong, but the father basically doesn’t care what route he takes (which child he sided with) as long as a beneficial ending is acquired. Looks like he really does have a finger in every pie. I want to know the other sisters reaction when she realizes, she wasn’t the only one the father was enquiring about the throne.
