the difference is that the filming staff is already paid by the time anything is released, but manga authors livelyhood depends on the number of purchases of the chapter/views/likes depending on the platform. watching a movie/series wont reduce the wages of the production team. but the author wont get paid enough if not many people buy or view their chapter
im talking about the big movie productions, im dont know about the small indie stuff
