I doubt it, given what their nephews said about them in the extra it is implied that they waited to reunite with one another. Plus, why would they travel with each other so much to each other’s worlds if they had a spouse.
(i’m sorry i wrote too long. hope you could understand it :D)
the last story is about another world where instead of having normal ears (human ears) they have cat ears and cat tails. those who have human ears (+cat ears) are called monkeys. the human ears act as extra ears and have no function but those who have the extra human ears will often experience hallucinations.
so gino (the cat boy with extra human ears) had been bullied and called monkey because of his human ears. he also thought that he was hallucinating until one day he met the ‘normal’ (i put ‘’ because in this story the normal person is the one that have cat ears) boy, nakano on the rooftop. turns out they shared the same circumstances (getting bullied for being different and experiencing the ‘hallucinations’) so over time, they became close with each other. the world that nakano and gino were living in are different thus they could only meet with each other for certain time on the rooftop only due to their special powers (?) (i don’t want to call it as hallucination because in this story they are not actually hallucinating but instead found out about each other worlds).
and then somehow there were occurrences of earthquakes which were causing problems towards gino and nakano connection. so after these earthquakes happened, their time spent together became shorter so somehow they knew that they won’t be able to spend time together anymore in the future. in the second last chapter, when gino is running away from his bullies, he ran to the rooftop and saw nakano getting bullied by the black thingy (which is nakano’s bullies in his world) then another earthquake happened and suddenly everybody could see the people from their opposite world (i’m sorry if my words doesn’t make sense) and so as you read more you could see the last earthquake erupted and severed all connection between gino and nakano
fast forward to the last chapter it seems that the two worlds have evolved and thus normal humans and cat humans are living together now. so basically it’s a happy ending because they end up together in the end.
