I remembered penelope getting arrested and being accused of something but derick doesn’t believe penelope when she said she didn’t do anything (which is true)
Basically something happened and everyone was suspicious of Penelope and she became the main suspect bc ppl were trying to frame her on purpose. But it wasn’t her and when she was arrested and trying to defend herself and declare her innocence the Oldest brother didn’t believe her and said hurtful things. Meanwhile the father and the second brother had their suspicions of Penelope bc of what happened had something to do with her weapon but they weren’t harsh and still listened to her
But once the truth came out after the trial bc the other sides evidences and witness didn’t add up, Penelope innocent was proven and she basically hates the older brother and gave him the cold shoulder. So basically just like how he protect that other girl instead of Penelope when the monster attacked, he believed the other ppl and was quick to blame Penelope
