Wait they're in middle school

Yeah the first few chs show them in high school, which is what they are in the present timeline and everything we’re seeing now is a flashback to when they were in their last year of middle school and first formed the friend group. If you remember from the first few chs Jian Yi was kidnapped on the first week of high school and He Tian already moved away so we’re just about reaching that point. The little extra chs we see of them as adults are a look into their future where they all meet again and make promise on their dream of being in a band together.

I completely understand where Mo is coming from, unlike the others he feels like he’s not allowed a break or happiness bc he’s carrying such a big burden at such a young age (they’re still in middle school after all) so it’s understandable as to why he would see someone like He Tian who has everything, someone who is able to have breaks and happiness, and be mad at him. But we’re also shown how much Mo regrets saying that to Tian in the moment of anger bc Tian has shown and told him time and time again that he wishes for Mo’s happiness and is willing to support him (I’m sure Mo feels guilt towards his mother as well, feeling like he betrayed her by disregarding his “duties” to hang out and have fun). And for Tian this moment is also hard on him bc he’s trying to spend his last moments with Mo as happy as possible so Mo doesn’t forget about him after he leaves but right before he plans to leave he was put into a one sided fight. I just hope they resolve it before He Tian leaves
