I've actually played a Korean otome game like this before and the case was VERY similar. My theory is that, the girl who invited him to the school's gathering is trying to tell him the truth of why did everyone started to bully him in High School and why she didn't help him at that time. The seme was the one who started all of that and probably threatened the girl so that she will stay away from the uke, this was all apart of his plan to make the uke stay with him forever and can only depend on the seme due to his fear of other people hurting him (when in reality it was all the seme's doings). I believe that the same was also the reason why the uke got fired from his old job and is also the reason why he got rejected every single time he got interviewed. That's the point of Lima syndrome, the abusers abuse their victims but is in love with them at the same time, to have their victim's love and affection, they would willingly hurt them.
