Does he have selective mutism?

This might be a spoiler but I feel it is! (I can't read Chinese that well so I might be wrong but I skipped to near ending and he can somehow talk!)

I think he can really talk before all of this happen I guess when he was a child he can talk but became mute because of trauma he got. I'm not sure tho
