    I've personally almost stopped using the term since most of what I read are manhua/hwa and danmei (Chinese bl novels) where they use the term gong/shou instead of seme/uke. We just use ML/MC instead regardless of the origin so we don't have to explain to the newbies.

    When the MC is the bottom, yeah ML is the seme. When it's a reversible couple, ML is the love interest.
