I think it depends on person to person. I personally am the same as you. Like I just read the segx scenes and just that. I don't make a fuss about it or I don't necessarily feel like affected if that's a good way to put it. I mean to me it's there, it's part of the story, it's that type of genre and I know what I'm reading. Hey you do you. If people get off through it I think it's fine. Just that they need to know where they set their bounderies and are conscious of what they are doing. I mean technically smut is still a form of entertainment so I see no problem in just enjoying it as it is and not actually get horny about it. That's perfectly normal.
Lmaoo, so when I first started reading yaoi, it concerned me but over time I got used to it and now I read it as I would a normal scene. For me it depends on the story in general. If there’s no build up then its not usually exciting . Buttt in some yaoi’s , they have really nice art and it’s just written in a really nice way that does maybe make me horn. Overall it’s just how you feel and also idk why I replied to this in a paragraph lmao
I feel the same lol I just really appreciate the talent of the artists, smut has got to be difficult to draw. And then the cleaners have to suffer too lol
Honestly as an artist I think smut is something normal like any other type of scenes (fighting, bloody scenes) I don’t read it for the sex but when it does have I just enjoy the art style lol like the way the bodies are drawn and all that, I think it’s beautiful lol
I love drawing naked people so I love seeing drawings of naked people and it doesn’t affect me at all
For me, its gotten to the point where reading smut scenes feels the same as the rest of the comic/webtoon/manga. At least with BL.
Or, sometimes, I just get a little red cheeked (if its uncensored mostly lol, like wow where are the lightsabers?). Ive found myself genuinely appreciating the art sometimes, too, or just skipping past it when Im reading for the plot not the porn(if its uncensored, I usually skim those scenes because i dont read this stuff to get off).
I feel like I should be hornier, but smut scenes I find enjoyable are usually just vessels for character growth or an excuse for fluff(or, angst.) Anyone relate? (￣∇￣")
