To him she was the only person there. His dad had died . He saw how hard she worked to pay the bills and to give him a good life. not trying to excuse her actions but I can see why he can’t bring himself to hate her.
that's a tactic used by the author to make the mother look innocent, it's so obvious. and he can definitely hate her even with such circumstances, just because she work hard doesn't mean he can't hate her.
Well he we’ll probably never hate the only person that was ever there for him and obviously he can’t bring himself to hate her. If my mom ever did that to me I would be deeply hurt and probably stay away from her for awhile but I personally could never bring myself to hate my mom.
