My 2cents is that in og story, since she sacrificed herself willingly, he just went mad out of sadness and guilt. But this time, since he though she was forced, it gave him a drive strong enough to try and fix it?
So... he turned the time back because he thought she didnt died willingly but someone made her and it was Okey if she did it not by force? Cause in og story he did not do that. Thats why i unintentionaly think this is the actual reason :/ dunnnnnooooo （￣へ￣）
