Yeah, it felt odd to me too. Even for someone who likes to provoke other people, it felt like he was seriously pushing it. Especially since he knows Yoshino put a tracker on him.

Yeah!! the only option I see is to make yoshino "blame" Shouma for attacking but he (and all of us) know that she will NOT take kirishima's side so... idk :/
