her mother probably made a lot of managing error since shes new money and never been educated in managing an estate before she married into the winchesters and was only focused on giving a life of leisure to her daughters. now that theres a hole in their account, shes too proud to say that she had made bad financial decision in exchange of luxury. she didnt seem evil to me, just really frantic and confused and deluded in a glitz of luxury without thinking far ahead
