if u want something recent, watch 86: eighty-six... best anime last season imo. it's action/military/sci fi. also liked to your eternity, which is adventure/fantasy and an emotional rollercoaster.
Try Baccano! One of my faves! Beware it does not have a linear storytelling so it’s up to you place the pieces of the timeline together!
