It's starts with a boy who is living with his relatives returning with a deer he hunted and bringing supplies (such as milk) to this mysterious person who defends their town from dark creatures from the sea. The town fears the boy that protects them because he has black stained hands from the creatures in the ocean and because the children chosen for his role die young.
