Y'all act like Jaehee did anything wrong here, she's completely drunk, lost, and having existential crisis and Huilin just coming and taking profit of the situation.

It's not Jaehee's fault, Huilin should not have done that. + Jaehee did not exactly reciprocate the kiss, look at the last panel how she is standing and her arms.

We'll have to see the following panels in the next chapter to be sure it's heading that way, but imo there are two possible scenarios for next chapter :

- Jaehee pulls off, and have a real conversation with Huilin.(or she just pass out lol)
or
- Jaehee doesn't do anything but she shows she is feeling bad, Huilin see it and doesn't take it further, and they have a talk another day after Jaehee cleared her thoughts.

If you remember Chapter 56, and even many chapters before, Jaehee hints that she needs to overcome her relationship with Huilin, because it's toxic and only something she uses to get away from reality. In order to become a better person she will have to put an end to it for good.

Another thing giving credit to this, is that in this chapter she thinks back to the question Sulhwa asked "Why did you leave Huilin?", we kind of know why but Jaehee never vocalized it, so plot-wise it's a hint it's going to be answered, and now is the perfect time.

u worded this perfectly. tho i wanna add some more hints, cuz even in season 1, every time we see young's thoughts about huilin and jaehee's relationships, she keeps on saying that huilin is the one who will get hurt and regret things in the end. she can also see through huilin's actions, take that scholarship event for example. young (the nurse) confronted huilin and asked her why she assigned jaehee to go for that position, and huilin have made it clear that the reason is to force jaehee to see her. of course, jaehee has her problems when it comes to saying no especially when it's for work. she knew jaehee won't refuse the offer so she pushed it directly to her face. now, this is what's happening. she's making jaehee feel like there is nowhere for her to run to except huilin herself. also the part where she sends off the gown to sulhwa's house. clearly knowing that it is sulhwa's house, her intention is to provoke sulhwa to ignite some drama between her and jaehee.

she is always confident that jaehee wil get back to her. even going far as ruining jaehee's previous relationships by doing dirty tricks (as per young). huilin thinks that she's giving jaehee the opportunity to see who they truly were, but in the opposite, she's actually just controlling jaehee's life all over. it's in the cycle.

huilin also noted that jaehee and sulhwa's relationship would make no difference to jaehee's previous relationships. she believes that it will fall down easily because jaehee never settled down with anyone before. why? because huilin's pulling her gimmicks to ruin all of it.

all of these are exactly the reason why i think jaehee will eventually overcome this toxic shit with huilin. sulhwa and jaehee might prove that they are both different, unless jaehee realizes other things. i am also hoping for huilin's happiness. i love her and we need her character development.

"she's making jaehee feel like there is nowhere for her to run to except huilin herself."

    Right ?
The whole story she kind of done that.
Jaehee's goal is to deserve the things she has in life. That's why she left Huilin, she was given accommodation, money, everything. And that killed her inside because nothing she has in life was because she'd deserve it, only because Huilin offered it to her.

So she left, found accommodation for herself, found a job to earn her own money, and that's where Huilin comes back with her poison : She fakes her exam results and get her a job
Jaehee wanted to deserve those, but Huilin handed it to her over a silver plate...

Jaehee wants to be independent but it's something hard and she's fragile emotionally because of her childhood.
And Huilin works on that insecurity, she offers her a life worriless, she tells her she can clear every negative thought and problem in her life, that she needs to lose herself to her and not think about it, to let her handle everything...
When someone say that to you, while you are feeling drowning by reality, you usually accept. Huilin knows this.
As you said "she is always confident that jaehee wil get back to her."

And Jaehee, which is realistically too weak, accepts when she's feeling too low.

Where as Sulhwa puts her in front of her responsabilities, that's why Jaehee runs from her, because reality is hard to face.

That's why it can't end with Jaehee x Huilin, the whole story was built on Jaehee overcoming her weaknesses and become one truly independent adult who face life by her whole self.
+ It's the first time she says she loves someone and that someone happens to be Sulhwa, it's so fucking cute :')

truly! jaehee also compared her most extreme plays when she was having sex with sulhwa. she said she's only focused on the play when she does it with huilin and heekyung, but with sulhwa, she's more focused on sulhwa instead.

there was also a chapter where jaehee said

"i know what you need from me. you're reaching out to me with a hand i can't refuse."

jaehee has been constantly thinking about the things that huilin did for her in the past, including the part where huilin manipulated the exam results. she can't deny to herself that she needed huilin to get those, she's being eaten by her thoughts that she wouldn't even bring herself anywhere if not for huilin's help. personally, if i were to put the ships aside and look at the plot itself, i don't see jaehee improving if she's to stay with huilin. she's been depending everything on her ever since this shit started, so it'll be more satisfying to see her stand up for herself and choose what could really help her character. if she wants and LOVES huilin, then she could leave sulhwa first before doing something that may hurt the other such as cheating, and huilin better improve her way of handling things and let jaehee decide for herself. if she wants sulhwa, then jaehee must restrain herself and confront huilin about it. huilin needs to see that jaehee's relationship with sulhwa is not like jaehee's previous relationships. jaehee and sulhwa need to prove that they wanted what they had and they will work on it.

if the latter happens, i can see that it will help huilin. it will grow some realizations that not everything she holds can be manipulated, and not everything she cares for should be controlled just because she wants to protect them. it's not for protection if she's continuously ruining jaehee's relationships, that's just selfishness. she's doing that on her own accord, not to protect jaehee.

Yeah I really want to avoid any form of cheating, it would make anything coming after really bitter.

"if she wants and LOVES huilin [...] if she wants sulhwa, then jaehee must restrain herself and confront huilin about it."

Right so, I think we will be settled next chapter, the author said on twitter : "The story will come out clearly on the next episode" so we will finally be settled *hopefully*.

" she's doing that on her own accord, not to protect jaehee."

That's what I think too, but I feel like it really hides something Huilin is hiding. Like she's doing this to fill a hole in her or something, it doesn't feel like true love to me.

well, the nurse also said that huilin is afraid to be left alone but still advises huilin to put an end to their drama. she can't resist it when jaehee cries because she's a sadist. she gets pleasure every time jaehee cries so maybe that's what pushed her to kiss jaehee.

i have a bad feeling abt that, cuz i still think huilin is the endgame. there's also a chance that they might cheat and have sex or jaehee will suddenly confess that she still loves huilin. on the other hand, it could turn out differently. jaehee might do what you said earlier and confront huilin. i really need to see what's with the next chapter. also, the nurse and sulhwa's conversation might also be in chapter 59 so we better hold on tight lol.

but they'll be doing sulhwa's character dirty if they cheat. that's trash and unacceptable. if huilin gets what she wants, which is jaehee, i hope sulhwa will also get her own happiness.

Girl, that's never happening. Like ever, there's no f- way Huilin is endgame.
I know I'm biased, but you should know as well since you seem to remember the story quite well.
They made Sulhwa / Jaehee relationship growing, and seemingly real. Like when you see their interaction it doesn't seem fake, they're really having love feelings for each other.

If the author wants to destroy that it would require more than 10 chapters to make it have any sense(the story ends in 9 chapters), because Sulhwa as a character wouldn't have any purpose in the story then. She's supposed to be Jaehee's redemption in life.

Where as Huilin is supposed to be the representation of Jaehee's flaws. She characterizes Jaehee's cowardness and inability to face her responsabilities, she needs to overcome both them, that's how her character comes to her final stage.

Jaehee to end with Huilin would truly be an aberration. The only way I would see it happening if it would save both Jaehee and Huilin, but that would have required hints where Huilin thinks/say she wants to change, or that she did Jaehee's bad and wants to be someone who will bring her up.
If that had happened I would believe Huilin's endgame, but that did not happen once.

Just as Jaehee, the only way Huilin gets her redemption as a character is by Jaehee getting growing up, showing she changed, and that her actual relationship with Sulhwa is very serious to her

(Holy shit I wrote a book sorry, this fucking story really got into me lol..)

YES. i know exactly what you're talking about but i'm trying to pull all the cards. it will definitely require more than 10 chapters to show that huilin is the endgame, but it looks like it'll only end at chapter 70. i also agree with what you said, huilin didn't show any progress in the whole story. her viewpoints are the same, still thinking that jaehee and sulhwa's relationship is as shallow as how she thinks it is. huilin thinks it's easy to ruin them, because that's what always happens in the past.

jaehee opens a new relationship with someone - huilin will pull her tricks to ruin it - jaehee will be left alone - jaehee will run back to her.

if we take a look at this, it actually looks like huilin is the reason why jaehee's always being abandoned.

it would be weird if we will see the same scenario at present, cuz that just means that nothing really changed. however, i also think that the story will take a turn somehow. just like what i've said, i'm expecting jaehee to stand up for herself and confront huilin, which may help huilin realize that she can't always have things her way.

she claims she wants to protect jaehee, but she keeps on manipulating the girl's life. the event, the sending of the gown, they're the reason why sulhwa and jaehee had a fight. to put it straight, huilin is also the reason why jaehee's suffering from this shit again. at the same time, it's her gain since she knows that jaehee may run back to her for comfort.

we never really saw a direct improvement from huilin's character. the way she thinks, talks, and acts were always suspicious. she is not only driven by her love, but also obsession. i want to see how the author will flip her character.

i don't rIally wanna pull my hopes up, because even before season 2 started, the author left a note and stated that season 2 will focus on huilin and we will explore her character. we will also know the reason why they broke up, and sirius also noted that huilin has happier days ahead. plus, the author stated that huilin will be happy even on twitter. i don't know if that happiness includes jaehee or just learning new things in life and moving on.

As for the author, look what he also said about Sulhwa/Jaehee : https://twitter.com/sirius_wr/status/1408449523257466882

    According to Google Translation :
"Because Jaehee is not good at expressing herself, I think it could be seen that way. It's a problem that time will solve. If Hyerim Jae-hee is assumed to be dating for a long time,

Sulwha will gradually lead Jae-hee to express it easily..."

    That's.. :')
