She is probably trying to gather more power by messing with the current emperor alliances
If her end goal is setting her own son as emperor
Both emperor and Duke need to be gone and the nobles that back them need to first be manipulated to her side so when she finally gets her son the throne theres no else to be against it
Is she like emotionally like stabbed to her son??? Or is she salty about her husbands death?
