personally for me its not the age gap. its the fact that shes a minor. so when its actually LEGAL for them to be in a relationship, then everythings fine
To be honest this "minor" thing is pretty weird for me... Some places you are a minor when you are less than 18 yo while in others its when you are less than 16

I agree especially cause Japan's age of consent is super low so this kind of relationship is not weird in Japan. But to more American and European countries, this is relation is wrong and predatory. Honestly depends on where you are from.
yes indeed. in the japan its not much of a taboo to have huge age gaps. age of consent is like 13 years old if im not mistaken. but the general legal age is 18. so until then they remain minors and must have legal consent from their guardians. so i think, altho it contradicts with japan's current constitution, the story just wants to express that relationships with someone extremely younger can get messy. especially since in most countries its a sensitive issue
