Same , i can't stand Shoujo anymore too ...
I get what you mean when it comes to Yaoi you feel the pride of men as well ego and for a man to get over this is really fascinating while showing the development of love lowering their guards with one another , creating unique bonds without showing the needy part except if they develop their feeling further stages .. unleashing their inner selves and darkest depth to one another keeping the relation developing endlessly and with no limitations , giving much satisfaction while reading those manga while feeling the unique bond developing slowly ..
Even i'm male i can feel this and love reading Yaoi ... much better than Shoujo for me ..
I dislike shoujo too but like some Josei ;)
Hilarious and perverted heroines Like YOSHIHARA Yuki's are the best ;)
Like a normal girl that just wants to eat a cute guy is emotionally strong but a bit lusty

I likr Korean "shoujo" better than japanise, most of the time heroineshave more character
The conventional ones, yes. But I think every romantic genre has that although I find the shoujo ones the worst. But I think there are still enough unconventional shoujo mangas out there that are worth appreciating. Their mostly non-mainstream and made by authors who do varying genres. Actually, I tend to like them a more than the long mainstream ones like those you mentioned. I'd say Don't Cry Girl is an example.
With me, it depends on the shoujo itself, including yaoi too if the uke MC doesn't act too much like those girls from shoujo/josei like almost annoying, then I treat both genre the same, if both female/uke leads are that irritating. I guess with shoujo/josei, they're very hard to find where you can find the female leads tolerable and can still read the book without getting irritated too much when the female MC did something stupid and the way they act sometimes. Now I know why most people turn to yaoi is because the uke MC are basically less annoying than their counterparts when you think about it.
Am I the only one that can't stand shoujo ? It wasn't like that in the past but now is a completely different thing. I really hate those weak and needy girls #-.-). The only shoujos that I like are Kaichou Wa Maid-sama, Dengeki Daisy and Skip beat.
What about you guys ?
