Err, she regressed. It's not a novel, she went back in time when she killed herself.
Juve and the prince never met in the past life. She was busy being a problem child that chase her fiancé and got framed for treason and he hated her for being Legis' weakness that the emperor exploit. In the past she probably won't even bat an eye for him but in this life, she actually interacted normally with Max and because of her changed personality/perspective, he became interested in her.

Yes it is a novel she read. If you read the synopsis (it literally says it there) and reread the beginning, you'll know she transmigrated into a novel. This can also be inferred both regardless of as well as due to the spoilers I've read.
No he didn't hate her in the novel. If he did he would have known that she would try to kill herself rather than be tortured by him.
I talk about her being tortured by him rather than him being interested in her because my theory about whether he tortured her was clearly my point. If you thought my theory was about whether or not he was interested in her, it does appear you missed it.
I was also saying that it was unlikely that Juve and Max met in the novel. It looks like you thought I was saying otherwise, so I'm confused....
Gawwwwwddd Max is adorable! When she rejected the CP because she thinks of him as a sadist tyrant Max's expression was like "wtf!?!?!?!". It really does look like he doesn't know where she got this idea of him. This is a big hint about the novel ending that the FL read. Because I'm pretty sure there's no way Jubellian and Max met before the end of the novel. But there's also no way his personality did a complete 180 like the novel suggests it would have had to do by the time she and Max first met in the novel, while she was in prison. Which means he was likely never thinking about torturing her. The next logical guess would be that he was there to help her.
