No I don't think he's saying he has always been attracted to guys. If I have to translate it myself it'd be something like "It was a world that I'm used to yet unfamiliar with, I know yet don't understand" he was saying it that before as a bl author that's how he felt about man liking man, he just wrote it without actually experiencing it, but now that he's actually in that world himself still doesn't feel real.

He is trying to say that.. He had always been attracted to guys so he is familiar to feelings of liking a guy.. And he knows how guys relationship are cz its actually kinda the same and he wrote them.. But he never have the feelings reciprocate thus the unfamiliar part.. N never actually experience romantic relationship.. Thus the unknowing part..
