I think he ends up going back to his original counterpart, but I haven't personally read that far (I hope she puts a leash on him, because that man is TRASH).
Spoilers about the background:
The actor and the evil witch who ends up possessing Liselotte in the game are both gods, and life partners (I would say spouses, but they're not actually in a relationship?). When they created the world, the actor got too obsessed with the humans and fell in love with the OG heroine (Finne), but he couldn't get to her. He eventually went to the real world specifically to get OG Finne, but he can't because she's a 2D character and he can't bridge that gap and our Finne still doesn't know he exists.
Note: I call her OG Finne, but it's only a previous incarnation of her soul; OG Finne isn't a game character.
Also, the actor only called out to Kobayashi because she smelled like the game world. Because Finne is the game heroine, or POV character, he thought for a minute that Kobayashi was Finne.
Meanwhile, the goddess is going insane because her counterpart abandoned her--saying that their relationship wasn't True Love because they were literally made as one set. Her jealousy over her partner abandoning her corrupted her divinity, turning her into the Witch, and she ended up possessing Liselotte, who was also struggling with jealousy over Finne.
The witch ends up getting purified in the near future, but the novel gets convoluted and boring after that, so I dunno how it goes. But I think the endgame spoilers I read said the actor stops being an idiot and goes back to his wife (the goddess). ╮(￣▽￣)╭
