I read the novel and Im pretty sure this is true, constellation often call him attractive as well. I remember Lee Jihye saying a constellation would pay her if she called him ugly and spread it around...or han sooyoung ahhh one of those two....

Yes. They can't see clearly, because Dokja has "the 4th wall" protecting him. He can't see his own status and others can't see also.

I’m pretty sure they can see his face, just not his status and skills. I’m only at chapter 168 in the novel so that’s all I’ve got to say
